BENNACHIE HILL RACE
BENNACHIE HILL RACE
In 2012, the Bennachie Hill Race will be in its 23nd year. It is firmly established in the hill running race calendar as one of the most popular races in North-East Scotland.
In 2007 the race was praised by the Daily Telegraph as one of Britain’s Top Ten Big Races for runners of all abilities.
At about 8.3 miles in length and with a total of 1150ft of ascent (12.8k and 550 metres), the Senior race is a great challenge for everyone.
In addition to the main (Senior) Hill Race, we also hold a Junior Hill Race for runners 13–17.
The current course records for the Senior Hill Race are:
Men: Chris Smith (Thames Valley Harriers): 53:51 (2009)
Women: Clare Whitehead (Cosmics) 1:01:25 (2002)
The Olympic Year’s races will be held on:
SUNDAY 7 OCTOBER 2012
